LAS VEGAS, NV – January 8, 2019 – Gorilla Technology, a leading Edge AI and computer vision solutions provider, is part of Intel's booth at CES this year. Gorilla is showcasing their Smart City solutions and Gorilla IVAR™ (Intelligent Video Analytics Recorder) integrated with Intel's OpenVINO™ toolkit. This follows Gorilla's recent announcement of becoming the first Edge AI-based computer vision MRS partner of Intel.
“We're excited to begin 2019 by showing our scalable and customizable solutions with Intel at CES this year.” Gorilla CEO, Dr. Spincer Koh continued while demonstrating IVAR, “Attendees are seeing firsthand at Intel's booth how our Smart City solutions protect and make manageable what's important to government, enterprise, and transportation organizations by experiencing edge AI in real time. Our solutions speak directly to business and security intelligence-minded professionals.”
Gorilla's work with Intel began last year and isn't showing any signs of slowing down. As part of their core collaborations, Gorilla Smart City uses IVAR, a customizable software solution which combines computer vision, real-time video analytics, business intelligence, and security intelligence. IVAR integrates Intel's OpenVINO toolkit, an AI library optimization tool, and empowers managers or administrators to better improve performance and to lower long-term costs through effective resource management, employee engagement, situational management, and easy-to-set watch lists.
At the show, Gorilla is demonstrating how users can manage all this from IVAR's UX-optimized dashboard. Real-time video analytics on edge hardware shows attendees how IVAR effectively searches and tracks people and vehicles, alerts users to specific behavior triggers, centralizes facility management, and more. Gorilla's Smart City solution also emphasizes high performance at a low bottom line as customers are able to maximize asset life by implementing on their existing video surveillance systems while enjoying hardware scaling flexibility and balanced network loads with Intel's optimization and architecture.
The two machines that Gorilla is featuring their solutions on at the show are IEI TANK, featuring an optimized i7 processor with FPGA, and AAEON UP2 (UP Squared), featuring Intel's Pentium with Movidius hardware. Both are all-in-one Edge AI devices and demonstrate Gorilla's scalability and drive to meet specific customer needs.
The real-time AI power of Gorilla's solution in TANK highlights their recent jump from the four channel real-time video analytics which the i7 processes to the ten channels that the i7 plus FPGA afford. This dramatic increase in capability shows great potential in how public safety can benefit from video analytics and was demonstrated at Intel's booth to simultaneously recognize and identify suspicious behavior, alert administration of crowded areas, and identify as well as track pre-registered visitors.
Their solution in UP2, with a focus on smart cities, features Intel's Pentium and Movidius inside. Gorilla demonstrated their solution on this machine at the show performing real-time video analysis of two channels by counting and categorizing vehicles by type to alert management of congested traffic areas while simultaneously reading license plates to identify and track watch-listed vehicles.
Gorilla has been in the forefront of AI driven, real-time video analytics and recent trends in almost every industry point to a growing demand for ready-to-market solutions such as Gorilla's Smart City powered by IVAR. By featuring their solutions together with strong partners at CES this year, Gorilla Technology is showing that they intend to stay on the edge and in the lead.
