TAIPEI, Taiwan. Gorilla Technology Inc. has released a content repurposing and monetization platform that leverages the speed and performance of EMC Isilon storage to enable the creation of new video-based services throughout Asia.
Gorilla’s “Enterprise MAM” integrates multiple content silos, while EMC Isilon provides fast storage for storing new forms of content generated on the monetization platform. Gorilla’s system for monitoring and controlling activity across the entire platform offers a management layer for business decision makers.

In designing the repurposing and monetization platform, Gorilla, who already supplies tapeless workflow solutions to the broadcast and media industry across Europe and the United States, has integrated 2-production bays and related content, a massive historical archive spanning 40 years of video content, and approximately 60 separate systems for managing related meta-data.

Gorilla’s open-architecture solution design has taken tree major isolated systems and transformed them into a platform for innovating new revenue models for the broadcasting and media industry. Utilizing EMC Isilon’s fast disk storage, Gorilla ensures a highly responsive system for monetizing content across a range of delivery platforms.

“Gorilla provides a powerful, highly scalable platform that integrates multiple content silos, while enabling the creation of new business models based on repurposed content,” said Dr Spincer Koh, CEO of Gorilla Technology Group. “Working with a company like EMC Isilon for their storage systems, Gorilla is able to deliver a solution that meets a range of key benchmarks for fast, reliable performance.”

One of the key benefits of Gorilla’s system is that while it integrates multiple content silos, it doesn’t interfere with the operations of each production bay. Instead it offers a new level of transparency for managing the entire business operations. Meanwhile, the EMC Isilon storage system gives Gorilla the power to move data quickly, and the flexibility to expand storage for the content generated by Gorilla’s repurposing workflow.

Gorilla’s solution is for a yet-to-be-revealed customer that will deliver video on demand (VOD) services and mobile content as the first in a range of commercial services targeted at the Chinese market, starting later this year.
