Taipei, Taiwan. Thai authorities visited Gorilla’s Taipei headquarters to exchange information and discuss national surveillance technology with respect to the recent ATM heist and the train station bomb explosion which Taiwan police authorities have successfully cracked.

Thai Authorities reported 21 state-run Government Savings Bank ATM’s were hacked with losses of 12 million Baht. Over 4000 ATM’s have been forced to suspend services due to security concerns. Thailand has also been rocked by 11 bombings across five provinces, killing 4 and injuring 36. The synergy across these two countries is striking, as Taiwan has been able to arrest its suspects. Thailand law enforcement agencies are seeking a comprehensive solution to fight the increased ATM heist risk as well as other terrorist threats of locating suspects and reducing the impact on society.

“In the past 15 years, we have seen how new technology has helped to investigate high-tech crime,” stated Dr. Spincer Koh, CEO of Gorilla Technology, “Gorilla’s solutions have been adopted both by the public and private sector alike for a variety of domains. We are glad to share our experiences with the Thai authorities.”

The current challenge faced by Thai authorities is to analyze a huge amount of video from thousands of surveillance devices in a short time. With Gorilla’s solution, suspects and target vehicles are tracked using advanced video analytics. The video database is hosted by law enforcement and can be accessed fast and efficiently so as to minimize the lag between the criminal act and the time a suspect flees.

Modern technology can be used to benefit human beings and deter criminal activity. As a member of the global community, Gorilla is excited to ally with government authorities to win the battle against crime and public threats by converting its core technology into applications that make the environment a safer place.
