Gorilla Launches “Connected Workspace” a Premiere Cloud-based MAM Service for Video Collaboration

2016/04/14
Taipei, Taiwan. Gorilla Technology Group this week launches its Connected Workspace media platform, a cloud-based MAM service that offers an enterprise-grade video collaboration platform available as a cloud subscription service.

Connected Workspace allows broadcasters, post production houses, agencies, and prosumer media users upload video from their local premises and then organize, view, edit, tag, and share via the cloud. Content can be retrieved from within Gorilla’s virtualized work environment and delivered to specific destinations for further post-production.

Connected Workspace will be on show at NAB 2016, South Hall Upper SU11407CM. Gorilla is launching with a free 30-day trial version. Gorilla offers three paid packages: a Basic version starting at $249, a Prosumer version at $499, and a Professional version for $999. Customers can choose the package most suited to their needs based on the number of hours of video they have under management, and factor in the number of sites in their network, and the number of users in their work group. Packages can also be configured to meet specific company requirements. Talk to one of our representatives at our booth or go online to experience Connected Workspace for yourself.

“For over a decade we’ve been helping our broadcast customers manage the complexities of video workflows – managing media assets faster and more cost effectively - no matter the location”, said Dr. Koh, Gorilla Technology CEO. “Connected Workspace is the evolution of this service offering over the cloud.”

At the core of Connected Workspace is its ability to enable teams to ingest, transcode, organize content, sync with metadata and collaborate across locations and time zones. Gorilla, with over 15-years’ experience in the broadcasting industry, designed this software to primarily work with multi-format broadcast quality content and help bridge work group silos. Connected Workspace makes it easier for the management of video, whether in a broadcast or enterprise/education business environment and more efficiently access and collaborate on media files while providing a cost-effective project-centric pricing model that helps save on operation costs.

Connected Workspace incorporates the following workflows:

  • Ingestion – ingest several files without complex user interaction. Select a file, and click upload. Gorilla’s Connected Workspace agent does the rest.
  • Global Search – finding media assets is easier using our search features. Basic search returns results for folders and locations, while advanced search drills into videos by time. Both functions can search across an organization’s entire account.
  • Metadata – Use the default video metadata or create custom metadata templates based on the criteria for each video. This segments each keyword element and helps when people need fast search results on particular video frames.
  • Share and Collaborate – Connected Workspace allows teams to collaborate across sites and amongst departments without the hassle of working with compatibility issues – you work within Connected Workspace instead. Share your workspace with colleagues to facilitate faster communication so others understand your viewpoint without going through strings of email. Generate rough cut sequences and deliver to a specific location for final cut editing using Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere.

Gorilla’s Connected Workspace’s cloud-based monthly subscription offering, maximizes project ROI, resource efficiency and control. With many production houses using experts at different locations and companies working globally, Connected Workspace offers easy collaboration with other team members within the same virtualized environment. Content is easily ingested and retrieved in batches. Each user benefits from a bird’s eye view of available content, and can leave comments at different sections in a video for other users to view and reply to. It’s a faster and smoother way of managing your content workflows over the cloud.
